Thank you for arranging an appointment to see DR Farrell about your medical problem. We will do our best to make your first visit with us run as smoothly as possible.
We certainly encourage partners or support persons into the consultation room at any appointments at your discretion.
Please bring your doctors’ referral, any scans (ultrasound, CT scans, MRI etc.), any biopsy or cervical screening test results, blood results, and any other information or past medical history that you think may be useful. You will also need to bring your Medicare card, and your Private Hospital Insurance information. If possible it is preferable if you could have your GP or specialist fax or email the referral prior to your appointment. This enables us to maximise our ability to have everything necessary for you to get the most out of your appointment.
Your initial consultation with Dr. Farrell will take 40 minutes. During this time Dr Farrell will take a thorough medical history, followed by an examination. During this assessment she may perform relevant investigations, such as taking a sample of cells for further testing, or a biopsy. She will thoroughly review your previous pathology results and scans.
Fees for your first appointment, colposcopy, biopsies etc. do attract a rebate through Medicare only (not your private health fund) .We can transmit claims through to Medicare on the day of consultation and rebates will be deposited within 24-hours into your registered account.
